Who are Brownsman?

Giles Wright, BA Hons, MSc, MBCS (Managing Director)

After a decade, former systems analyst Giles Wright has returned to his north roots in 2008 to set up Brownsman IT Solutions. Giles worked in the City of London at JP Morgan for 5 years and also had a spell as a senior analyst at the New York Stock Exchange. During both of these roles, he gained solid practical experience in developing and managing IT systems used by thousands of employees.

Giles has worked with enterprise level technologies such as Sybase, Oracle and SQL Server database systems on UNIX, Linux and Windows servers whilst also taking the opportunity to create and maintain smaller applications using MySQL and PHP.

Strengths

Giles strengths lie in his ability to identify and develop the best IT system for any business. His wide range of experience and up to date knowledge ensures that he is able to easily translate each company’s specific and varied needs into a range of technology solutions to help their business increase efficiency and operate securely. With a BA in Business Management and an MSc in Software Development, Giles is able to focus on the business owner’s need to harness IT to accelerate the performance of their company, developing systems that truly add value.

Passions

When not working hard at Brownsman IT Solutions, Giles loves the outdoors and has a passion for sailing. He’s a member of the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club at Blyth and has sailed the Scottish Islands 3 Peaks Race. Brownsman is named after a Farne Island as he does a lot of sailing from the Tyne up the Northumberland coast. Giles is a family man, enjoying spending time with his wife Nicola and their young daughter Isobel.
